I am one of the globally select few owners of a PS3. Well I've had it since the weekend after its launch and now with the recent price drops I'm going to review the collection of games I have for it at the moment. Hopefully this might persuade more of you to buy one now its a little cheaper.

The games I currently own: Resistance: Fall of Man
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Genji: Days of the Blade
NBA 2K7
NBA STREET Homecourt
Sonic the hedgehog.

Resistance: Fall of Man - Review:

Okay so let's start on a positive note and say this is what I consider to be by far the best game on ps3 that I currently own and that is currently true. However this only holds true if you are a fan of the FPS genre, as this game offers nothing in turns of breath taking originality which hasn't been seen in previous outings of FPS like Doom 3 or Farcry. That doesn't mean its entirely without its new features for example if one of the enemy grabs you and begins to try and eat you, much like resident evil style, you shack the six axis controller violently to escape their grip. apart from this though the use of the motion sensor is not integrated into the game play in any other instances.

The storyline is excellent and whilst playing the campaign you never feel the need to skip a cut scene or are left wondering round for ages bored out of your head because the action is fast and frequent. This is complimented by the fast adrenaline pumped online play. The online play includes different game scenarios, however again this are limited towards the classic game modes and other no new styles of play. A nifty feature of the online play is the ranked matches option, it basically places you in a match with players of similar reputation/points so you are not overly challenged or under. I felt it was fairly accurate in its ranking and I've never felt like the odd one out in a match in terms of ability. as your rank goes up you get medals similar to military colours which are displayed on your profile. these also unlock items and outfits that your online player can be customised with. The ability for clans and buddy lists is also there as well.

Both online and offline play is fast with good frame rates and little if not any lag. Setting up games and loading screens are also fast with no detrimental effect on the stunning visuals, which will often result in you being blown up because your just admiring the scenery too much. Sound is also above par and creates and atmosphere suiting to the game play.

Overall the game clearly justify its price tag and I would defiantly recommend picking it up considering there aren't that many ps3 games out at the moment. however just be warned that if you are looking for a game that drastically changes the way you play a FPS or has incredible depths that rivals Oblivion then this isn't really the game for you, but I would still pick it up because you could choose a lot worse and its so much fun if you've only got a small amount of time to play games each day not endless hours to put into Oblivion.
